Dorothy was born on October 1, 1919 in Brooklyn, to Stephen and Elizabeth Scrivani. She married Richard in 1941 and went on to have their three children, Carol. Richie, and James. They moved to Valley Strem in 1950 to begin their new life on Mary Street. Her family and friends would all soon follow, as they were the centerpieces of Dorothy's Life. She was always willing to devote her time to others whether it was selling hot dogs for the Green Hornets or selling "poppies" for the VFW. Dorothy was kid and genuine and when said thank you it came from her heart. She was the Rose Kennedy of the Cattabiani Family. Anytime strength was needed, we turned to her. Through all of life's obstacles, Dorothy pushed through, without ever uttering a single complaint. Living to 103 is no easy task, but she gracefully accepted the challenge. Our leader has moved on to a better place, but at all of our future gatherings, we will look to the head of the table and see Nanny.
