Eri “Puchy” Colon, age 48, of Clifton Park, NY passed away on November 4, 2020 at Albany Medical Center from cancer. He was surrounded by his three children Eric, Devin, and Sophia; Idelle, his wife of 22 years; his mother Juana; and his father Eli.
Puchy was born in Manhattan, NY on November 3, 1972. He graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School for Boys and went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in business from St. John’s University. He worked as an insurance adjuster for Nationwide, a career he chose so he could work from home to be close to his children. A devoted father, husband, and son, Puchy loved playing baseball, football, and basketball with his kids and their friends. On weekends, he would undertake major home improvement projects and coach his kids’ teams. He loved hiking and attending car shows, and he was a certified dog whisperer.
Visitation will be held from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Sunday, November 8, at Lieber Funeral Home in Valley Stream. Burial will take place at 11:30 am on Monday, November 9, at Pinelawn Memorial Park and Cemetery in Farmingdale. Due to COVID-19, a memorial service with a virtual component is being planned with St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Albany Medical Center or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The Colon family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors of Albany Medical Center for their excellent care.
