On the evening of June 16th, Jeanne Carey left this world after a long valiant battle with breast cancer. Just as she wished, Jeanne passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her three daughters, Allison, Jennifer and Laura.
Jeanne was born on November 5th, 1953 in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn to Jeanne and Stanley Mrozinski. She was immediately loved. As the youngest of four siblings, Maryanne, John and Michael she became affectionately known as Gigi, a nickname that she bestowed upon herself as a small child who couldn’t quite pronounce her name.
Throughout her life, she brought joy to all who crossed her path. With her bright smile and warm personality, she so easily connected with people and could draw anyone in. As the Manager of Gymboree, she made work look like play and beamed whenever she regaled the details of her day.
A dedicated mother and quintessential role model, Jeanne was the epitome of strength, resilience, sacrifice and unconditional love. Her innate ability to comfort others in times when she was quietly suffering the most was a true testament to her selfless nature and unwavering spirit.
The love she had for her own children was multiplied by a trillion when she became a grandmother to Charlie Marie. The nickname that Jeanne created for herself as a child would coincidentally become the name that her granddaughter would come to call her. Charlie loves her Gigi very much.
Jeanne has made an unforgettable mark on the lives of all that she has touched. She will be eternally memorialized by all of the wonderful memories and forever missed by all who loved her dearly.
Please join us in celebrating her life and legacy.
