In an effort to keep our families and communities healthy and safe, we would ask that physical contact (handshakes, hugs, etc.) be limited during your visit with us. Also, please keep your condolences brief so that other visitors can do the same. We want our families to be confident in our efforts to provide safety for them. Joan Muriel Pigott born to Charles Pigott and Alexandrina Baptiste in Antigua on February 26th, 1945. She attended Antigua Gramma school and developed her skills in baking from her mother as a youth. At an early age she would go down to the market and sell her goods.
As a young woman she set out for more opportunities in America. She lived in New York City and worked in the garment district in Manhattan where she met her future husband Harold Venzen. Joan and Harold where married on September 22nd, 1973. They had two children and raised their family out in Queens New York. Joan was a loving wife and mother to her family. She was known as a jokester to get people to laugh or smile. One of her greatest qualities in life was to serve others. She was big on helping people in her neighborhood, at work or in her church.
Joan was proud member of the Cathedral Church of St Thomas the Apostle. She was a member of the choir and multiple groups within the church. She received numerus award from the church and spearheaded the renovation of the church kitchen so that everyone could enjoy a meal after service.
She leaves behind 5 siblings a numerous amount of loving niece, nephew cousin and her church family. Her Legacy continues in the lives of her two children Nicole and Anthony and his wife Sunnie. She is the proud grandmother of 9 wonderful human beings an great-grandmother to 4 special children.
