Josephine "Joy" A. Finamore

Josephine A. Finamore passed from this world January 12th after a short but brutal battle with a very aggressive cancer. She was surrounded by her family and has gone home to join her mother & father, Maureen & John.

 She was best known by her nickname "Joy" for she was exactly that. She brought Joy, and love, and light to all she had the pleasure to know. May she always be remembered as she was: strong, beautiful, loving, and will kick your butt from here to Sunday with the hard truths when you needed them. She spent her days surrounded by family and friends and frequented the Old Westbury Gardens, which she so dearly loved.

She was the best of us, the best mother, daughter, sister, aunt, family member & friend. Her loss is devastating & will be felt by so many. She is survived by her children, siblings, nieces & nephews, and grand-nieces & nephews. 

In lieu of flowers, her children & family are asking for donations to be made in her name to Old Westbury Gardens. 

Rather than the limited longevity of cut flowers, your donation will ensure the growth, beauty, and life of many many more flowers and trees in a protected place that she so so loved and will be open for all to visit for years to come.
