Ricky Singh Obituary

".. He heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds.."
-Psalms 147:3 niv
Ricky Singh, 49 of Queens Village, NY lost his battle with cancer at 7am at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan NY. At the time of his transition into the Lord's presence he was being careful watched and monitored by his caring mother and loving sister.
"..i appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is spiritual worship.."
-Romans 12:1 ESV
Bio:
Ricky Singh was born in Georgetown, Guyana but raised most of his adult life in the town of Queens Village, NY. A devout christian, graduate of Lexington School For the Deaf. The eldest son to Shirley Surajbally; the eldest brother to Sabrina, Dane, Vijay, Rishi, Randy, Ron, Ray, Richie, Stephanie; and the eldest uncle of Barzillai, Ozias, Eliel, Eliana, Gabriel, and Jedidiah-Arian.
Ricky was the kind of person whom if he knew you he'd greet you with a warm friendly smile. He had the biggest love for animals especially cats and dogs. He was a beach lover, enjoyed an occasional game of bowling, and a big foodie (chinese and hispanic foods being his two favorite), his favorite shows were Jerry Springer, Ridiculousness, Animal Planet, America's funniest videos, and he often watched the news.
".. for it is God who works in you and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.."
-Philippians 2:13 NIV
Unaware of what he was getting himself into Ricky once biked almost 50 miles across neighboring states with his church group in freezing 40 degree rain wearing jeans and a thin sweater for an unknown awareness/cause. He wanted to be involved and was willing to lend a helping hand at whatever cost. The cost ending being a fever and an aching back and legs for 3 to 4 days but in his mind the rewards was far greater.
Special appreciation for the doctors/nurses and administrative staff at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for their assistance in his treatments and also big thanks to the staff at Lieber Funeral Homes and all the attendees.
No words can express the loss of a family member
Still in the numbness of it all
The silence ringing through the noise but without any dancing
Still haven't gotten to know you well enough to say goodbye
But goodbyes are in order
Unfortunate as it may be viewed by the naked eyes,
The way it looks for the unseen is very fortunate..
No more pain
No more suffering
Only liberation
May your spirit speak so loud, even without words the deaf will gain hearing
your soul will beam a light so bright the blind will see
Finally
Be seen
Acknowledgements are in play
Respects paid.

You're right where you need to be
